As I always say in these hybrids, I am a big fan of Body Beast given my ongoing goals for muscle hypertrophy to add lean mass, but I am also focused on promoting a low (healthy) body fat percentage and “functional” fitness performance. My experience with Body Beast has been excellent, but from my perspective it is lacking the cardio challenge and mobility work I would like to see to further build well-rounded, balanced athletic endurance. As such, I have already created popular hybrids with Insanity Max:30 , HAMMER workouts by Sagi from Hammer & Chisel, 22 Minute Hard Corps, Core De Force, Shaun Week, Shift Shop, LIIFT4/AWOHL, Transform :20, 6 Weeks of The Work, 10 Rounds, 645, LIIFT MORE and Tough Mudder T-Minus 30! However, I am pumped with my latest hybrid creation with the new strength building primal movement program from Amoila Cesar called Chop Wood Carry Water!
Body Beast Chop Wood Carry Water Hybrid Deconstructed
Body Beast focuses on strength and mass gain with muscle-specific challenges via dynamic set training using weights, while Chop Wood Carry Water provides focus on developing mobility, stability, strength, agility, endurance, and power via primal movement flow. Primal movement is ground-based, bodyweight movement in which you flow from one position to another, opening your body and using stabilizing muscles to help improve flexibility, mobility, and stability as you go. Chop Wood Carry Water is the first program dedicated to primal movement and flow, combined with supplemental weighted lifts, to enhance balance and coordination. As such, after doing all 24 workouts from Chop Wood Carry Water I have realized that the program aligns well in a hybrid format with Body Beast to get amazing results while having a lot of fun. This may actually be one of the most balanced hybrids I have ever created with the added coordination work, similar in approach to my hybrid with Amoila’s 645 program. What I love about Sagi’s Body Beast is that the workouts focus on one or two SPECIFIC muscle groups and force failure to grow (you know, like life in general!). Amoila targets getting your total body to perform as designed with Chop Wood Carry Water including isolation of muscle groups with weights while demonstrating mobility/strength and control of your body weight with primal flow performance. That is why I was excited to create this advanced lean mass gain mobility Body Beast Chop Wood Carry Water Hybrid to maximize results for muscle gain with hypertrophy while promoting elite functional fitness in a more balance approach. I am unaware of ANY Body Beast Chop Wood Carry Water workout schedule for these two programs yet and certainly none yet that have been vetted from personal experience with EVERY single workout on the schedule. I have done that, unlike those “random generator” hybrid schedulers out there that are different every time (and typically unsafe!). I decided to ramp up the intensity with this hybrid each week leveraging all of the workouts from both programs. Each week includes primal movement along with the weighted workouts to facilitate hypertrophy mechanisms. Ab and core work is added 2-3 days each week. The result is a killer hybrid that promotes better mobility and performance not just in your workouts, but also in everyday life. These two programs are amazing on their own, but a Body Beast Chop Wood Carry Water Hybrid of the two allows you to build mass and get ripped while adding functional strength, endurance and coordination in ONE schedule!
Nutrition is CRITICAL for getting the results you want with your fitness program and the targets need to be aligned with the clean eating system (Nutrition + Portion Fix recommended, but you may need to bump calories for mass gain depending on goals).
