My new hybrid workout schedule is HERE – Body Beast Transform :20 Hybrid!
I just finished the 6-week Transform :20 (T20) program by Shaun T and there should be no surprises that I decided to hybrid T20 with Body Beast given my current goals for muscle hypertrophy to add lean mass while promoting a low (healthy) body fat percentage and “functional” fitness performance. As I have discussed many times, my experience with Body Beast has been amazing, but from my perspective it is lacking the cardio challenge I would like to see to further build well-rounded, balanced athletic endurance. As such, I have already created popular hybrids of Body Beast with Insanity Max:30 , HAMMER workouts by Sagi from Hammer & Chisel, 22 Minute Hard Corps, Core De Force, Shaun Week, Shift Shop and LIIFT4. Transform :20 was released 6 weeks ago (as of this writing) and I just finished the program yesterday including my detailed heart rate analysis reviews for ALL 51 Transform :20 Workouts (including bonuses)!! What an amazing program focused on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) using an innovative step approach!
Body Beast Transform :20 Hybrid Deconstructed
Body Beast focuses on strength and mass gain with muscle-specific challenges via dynamic set training using weights, while Transform :20 leverages a step to challenge your total body HIIT performance for elevated heart rates. The step is awesome, and I was seriously challenged. You can adjust the number of risers on the step or remove the step altogether to control the difficulty of the workouts based on your fitness level and ultimate goals. As such, Transform :20 can be done for a range of fitness levels. There are no breaks in T20 so you can get it done effectively in only 20 minutes. The shorter workout times work well in a hybrid schedule doubles format. Also, there are bonus weighted workouts in T20 using the step to add resistance in a new way to balance your strength gains. After completing all 51 unique Transform :20 workouts I have realized that the program would align well in a hybrid format with Body Beast.
I decided to create this hybrid for myself to add in some more resistance variation with my favorite lifting workouts from Body Beast. As mentioned, the shorter workout times for Transform :20 work well in a doubles format with Body Beast. Total workout time is less than one hour each day with average between 40-50 minutes. The Body Beast Transform :20 Hybrid is 8 weeks in length and incorporates the bonus workouts from both programs as well!
Arguably the most popular Beachbody Super Trainer Shaun T is a GREAT complement to Sagi Kalev in this hybrid. This may easily be one of the most effective hybrids I have created to date, even better than my MOST popular hybrid — Body Beast and Max:30 (another Shaun T innovation, but 30-min workouts). What I love about Sagi’s Body Beast program is that the workouts focus on one or two SPECIFIC muscle groups and force failure to grow (you know, like life in general!). Shaun T also pushes you to fail from a strength, HIIT and core perspective using fast pacing between sets and blocks plus “transformer” fit tests built within the workouts. Shaun T’s motivation and inspiration is top notch in what I believe to be his most challenging program to date. That is why I was excited to create a Body Beast Transform :20 Hybrid to get the best of both worlds in resistance and cardio to maximize results for muscle gain with hypertrophy while promoting functional fitness. I am unaware of ANY Body Beast Transform :20 workout schedule for these two programs yet (as of Feb 2019) and certainly none yet that have been vetted from personal experience with EVERY workout on the schedules for both programs. I have done that, unlike those “random generator” hybrid schedulers out there that are different every time (and typically unsafe!). These programs are amazing on their own, but a Body Beast Transform :20 Hybrid allows you to build mass, get ripped and add functional strength and endurance aligned in ONE schedule (while having fun)!
