Most of you that have been following me over the years know that I am a big fan of Body Beast given my current goals for muscle hypertrophy to add lean mass, but I am also focused on promoting a low (healthy) body fat percentage and “functional” fitness performance. My experience with Body Beast has been excellent, but from my perspective it is lacking the cardio challenge I would like to see to further build well-rounded, balanced athletic endurance. As such, I have already created popular hybrids with MANY OTHER BEACHBODY PROGRAMS! P90X Generation Next offers an amazing bootcamp-style experience with Metabolic Overload Training, Neuro-Performance Training, and Active Recovery Training designed to build strength, power, coordination, and resilience while keeping your body adapting across all three phases. Although P90X Generation Next will be great “as is” for most people, my new hybrid schedule with P90X Generation Next and Body Beast is a rocker to exceed the best of both programs!!

 

P90X Generation Next Body Beast Hybrid Deconstructed

 

Body Beast focuses on strength and mass gain with muscle-specific challenges via dynamic set training using weights. As mentioned, P90X Generation Next provides extra focus on a bootcamp experience with wide ranging formats to accelerate results. P90X Gen Next strength days combine heavy compound lifts with high intensity conditioning to target the chest, back, arms, glutes, and legs while maximizing calorie burn. Athletic sessions like Speed & Agility, Plyometrix, Acceleration & Deceleration, and Cardio Boxing sharpen reaction time, balance, and movement precision under fatigue. Recovery workouts focus on mobility, flexibility, and myofascial release to restore movement quality and reduce injury risk. Together, these formats create a demanding but sustainable system that pushes performance forward without burnout! I really like both programs a lot and after doing all 15 unique P90X Generation Next workouts I have realized that the program would align well in a hybrid format with Body Beast.

 

I decided to create this hybrid for myself to add in some more resistance variation with my favorite lifting workouts – Body Beast and P90X Generation Next. The Body Beast workouts in this hybrid include both versions of BEAST: Abs and the Deluxe Tempo/Lucky 7 routines. There is a mid-week, non-lifting cardio routine plus an active recovery day at the end of the week to facilitate recovery. As always, feel free to incorporate your favorite steady state activities (e.g., yoga, biking, hiking, rowing, etc.). The hybrid is created leveraging the entire workout lists from both Body Beast and P90X Generation Next, including the P90X Gen Next 5er bonuses to stack muscle groups in 12 weeks of focus. This structure maintains muscle confusion while limiting plateaus in progress and performance to finish the hybrid STRONG! Enjoy!!

 

Waz Ashayer is a GREAT complement to Sagi Kalev in this hybrid. This may be one of the most effective hybrids I have created to date. What I love about Sagi’s Body Beast program is that the workouts focus on one or two SPECIFIC muscle groups and force failure to grow (you know, like life in general!). Waz also pushes you to failure from a strength, HIIT and core perspective using fast pacing between sets and blocks plus EMOM (every minute on the minute) burnouts. That is why I was excited to create a P90X Generation Next Body Beast Hybrid to maximize results for muscle gain with hypertrophy while promoting functional fitness.

 

I am unaware of ANY P90X Generation Next Body Beast workout schedule for these programs yet (as of March 2026) and certainly none yet that have been vetted from personal experience with EVERY workout on the schedule. I have done that, unlike those “random generator” hybrid schedulers out there that are different every time (and typically unsafe!). In this hybrid 15 unique P90X Generation Next workouts are represented.
