Failing Forward to Success

Have you ever tried shooting for the moon, but only to land in the stars?

Think about that…

Sometimes we have such aggressive goals that may perhaps even be considered unrealistic, and then if we do not achieve those stretch goals it leads to negative energy and de-motivation.

I choose to be different this year. I choose to fail forward to success.

I LOVE the concept of “stop beating yourself up on missed goals” and instead focus on reflecting on “what” you have accomplished and progress made, as significant or insignificant as you believe at the time. VERY powerful mindset shift!

Outside of retiring from my “day job” to spend more time with family, which DID happen, my biggest goal in 2014 was to be recognized as an Elite Team Beachbody Coach. It really was a stretch for me in 2014 given the way the Elite point system works. And, although I did achieve many of my other goals, we just missed Elite as a Team by a few points. In fact, it was so close I actually received a phone call from Beachbody Corporate in the New Year congratulating me on hitting Elite, only to be called back 6 hours later with the news that the calculations on points were audited and I just missed the recognition. Talk about a roller coaster day!

My mind was racing with many different thoughts and feelings. I worked SO hard to make this happen for my family and the Team, only to fall just short. I am very motivated and competitive, and when I have a goal in mind I commit 110%. I do not like to miss my goals. My Team worked so hard in 2014, helping a lot of people change their lives. I am SO proud of them and wanted this recognition as proof of our Team success.

It is easy to allow yourself to feel sorry for yourself or let anger settle in for missed goals, but DON’T let it! For me, I tried not to lose sight of the good news I did receive that I achieved Premiere Coach recognition. This is a huge accomplishment. Instead of being in the top 0.08% of the coach network, I had to settle with top 0.11%. Ha. I will take it!

So, although I did not achieve one of my largest goals in 2014 of TEAM RAGE being considered an ELITE Team in the Beachbody Coach network, I stepped back and looked at some of the highlights in 2014. This was truly an eye-opening exercise for me as 2014 was one of the BEST years of my life in terms of creating significant and positive, sustainable change in my lifestyle and family. Titles are only titles, ranks are only ranks… they do NOT define us. I only post the output from my exercise as accountability and by no means of bragging, but hopefully a source of motivation to reflect on what you HAVE achieved vs. what you did not achieve in 2014.

My 2014 Year in Review

My Team had an AMAZING year being considered in the top approx. 0.11% of the entire Beachbody Coach Network of 236,000+ coaches. And, if you are looking for a male Beachbody Coach to help with your health and fitness goals or Sponsor Coach to help with your own Coach business success, I can help, ranking in the Top 25 men in the company!

2015 is our year to do BIG things, whatever that means for YOU. Let’s get our mindset strong. Set realistic, but stretch goals to get out of YOUR comfort zone where magic happens, and make a difference!

For me, Elite 2015, which means I am helping a lot of people with their health, fitness and financial goals. Let’s do this!
